Shabby 'equestrian' Chic

Oh my my my... I love design! Ive been working with a friend a little who just needs some direction on her new place! She is a brown-lover but also loves all of the new gray ideas and she has gray countertops!!  I wanted to show her how the brown and gray families CAN work together in some instances! You just have to have those other items to pull it all together and make the connection! Lots of play with color families and texture.  I literally did this for her in ten minutes! Just a very quick, inspiration board to lead her in the right direction and help her visualize! Don't you just want to cuddle up in this room?!

Happy Tuesday... I mean Wednesday!!!

...chicken with my head cut off.... :D

Life is CRAZY!

I had a friend request a post.. so here it is!
I really do have a fun project to share with you!

Great group to work with!!!
Can help with you any project big or small!

This project was a basement finish and it turned out great!!! Once the space is complete with all the jazz, maybe I'll post photos! For now, I will share some of the boards I did for the project! These are completely conceptual, just to lead the client in the right direction with furniture and accessories! So not quite an e-design! Boards are fun though and helps the client to visualize the whole space! Let me know if you are interested in this service!!!

I hope that you like them!

Another fun thing to share! I got new lamps today!!!!! It really is THAT exciting! The ones in our dining room before were ones I got when I was 16! Thats 10 years ago people!!!  I got them for my bedroom I was redoing at the time! I even paid for them myself! :) Things just take awhile to get the way you want them! Be patient getting your house right!

  Heres a photo! You can see my new Ikat painting in the background! The only painting in our house not by my husband, who is the artist in the family!  :)

{ Have a wonderful weekend!!! }

Your wee little ones room!

For those of you who read my blog...  you already know how much I love designing nurseries! The opportunities are quite rare but when I get the chance my heart beats just a little faster! Whether you like a calming retreat or an inspiring colorful room for your little one, there are so so many fun ideas!  Designing a nursery here at OUR house is the ONLY reason I am ready for "all that!" In the meantime, Ill just stick to helping my clients. :)

One thing I tell my clients is to really focus in on what you what the nursery to be about.  It is easy to overwhelm a nursery (or any room!) with to many ideas! Focus on just a few things and make it really special!

Another important bit of advice is to not limit yourself with to many age specific spaces.  You want to think about how your wee little one will grow and how you will (hopefully) still be able to use the space!  Think about the big pieces first and make those more translatable for when they grow!  Consider spending less money on a crib and getting a dresser that you can double as a changing table and remove later! Then you can bring lots of personality in the smaller items!

Here are a few of my favorite!
